Cupcake Nails!

Sorry about the lack of posting recently I am studying abroad in Tokyo for the next for months and I’ve been getting situated here. I don’t have an oven so I won’t really have the chance to bake, although I did find some great cookie in a coffee mug recipes that I will have to try. I will however, keep painting my nails! Right now it’s helping to keep me sane even with all the culture shock that’s going on.

Ice Cream Cupcakes!

I made these for Mandy’s 21st! They melted on the way to her house and this was the most normal looking one to take a picture of. They tasted great though :)

Cake batter pretzels!
I had some extra almond bark after making cake batter truffles. So I took 3 squares of almond bark and stirred in 4 tablespoons of yellow cake mix. Then I dipped small pretzel rods in the mixture and added sprinkles. So simple but so amazing!

My sister says these look like the oil and balsamic dipping...

Red velvet cupcakes!
Made these for my boyfriend for valentines day. You can tell a good red velvet recipe by looking for one that has a small amount of vinegar in the batter. The original “red velvet” color was formed from a reaction between the acidic vinegar and the alkaline cocoa powder.

Best Frickin Homemade Brownies EVER

Crackly on the top, fudgy in the middle. The trick is to not over mix the batter after adding the eggs. I used semisweet chocolate instead of bittersweet, and they couldn’t have been any better.

Sorry guys for the bad photo, I was kind of impatient because I wanted to eat it :p I actually doubled the chocolate in the recipe and it smelled and tasted like brownie batter; awesome.

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever!

So, the story is, I couldn’t get a good picture of these cookies because they were all gone before I had the chance! My sister was eating the last one and I made her pose for me haha. At first this looks like just another chocolate chip cookie recipe, but it’s anything but that. They are amazing, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, and I will never use another recipe ever again.

Homemade Oatmeal Cream Pies!

These are amazing! The marshmallow cream recipe is particularly awesome and I will definitely be using it in the future. I did make two batches of the filling because one wasn’t enough and I used light brown sugar in place of the dark brown in the recipe for the cookies just because I prefer it.

Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes

I made these for my boyfriend for a late Christmas gift. I have to say I love this chocolate cupcake recipe, you don’t really notice the beer unless you look for it and the cupcakes are moist and fluffy. I used the recipe from http://www.fromaway.com/cooking/irish-car-bomb-cupcakes but added more beer and doubled the amount of Jameson in the ganache. I would even like a little more Whiskey in the filling because it’s still not super obvious that it’s there. Overall awesome recipe though and happy boyfriend :)
